Start your journey with a unique leader card and a deck of cards identical to your fellow players. Your choices in acquiring and enhancing your card collection will determine your distinctive strengths and weaknesses. These cards grant you the power to strategically dispatch your Agents to crucial locations on the game board, making the evolution of your deck a pivotal aspect of your overall strategy. You can focus on bolstering your military might for larger troop deployments or acquire cards that give you a competitive edge within the game’s four political factions: the Emperor, the Spacing Guild, the Bene Gesserit, and the Fremen.
Dune: Imperium sets itself apart from traditional deck-building games. In each round, you draw a hand of cards and take turns with other players, placing one Agent at a time on the game board. When your turn comes and you’ve exhausted your Agents, you’ll reveal the rest of your cards. These revealed cards contribute to Persuasion, used for acquiring more cards, and Swords, which aid your troops in competing for the round’s rewards, as indicated on the Conflict card.
